Trademark issue forces name change at Watermark (Waconia Patriot)
Since it opened in May 2005, Watermark Community Church has faced its share of challenges. For starters, it had been 60 years since a church had opened its doors in Watertown, a city with a religious tradition that stems from the mid-1800s.

It all started 150 years ago on the shores of Swede Lake just outside of Watertown. Twenty-three area families decided to start a church for the area’s pioneers of Swedish descent. The church took on the name Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Gotaholm Congregation Carver County, Minnesota.
